Biography

Jesse was born between 1863-1864 in Floyd, Virginia. He is the son of William Howell and Linda Duncan. ^[1] He is listed with his parents on both: the 1870 Census^[2] and the 1880 Census^[3] in Floyd, Virginia. On January 26, 1893 he married Barbara Ellen Duncan.^[4] The couple are listed together on the 1910 Census,^[5] the 1920 Census,^[6] and the 1930 Census^[7] in Montgomery, Virginia. Records indicate that the couple had at least seven; perhaps eight children. He passed away on March 6, 1934.^[8]
