Biography
Mary was baptised on 13 April 1846 in Newcastle upon tyne, by parents Richard and Ann Howey. Her mother's maiden name was Patrick [1]
In 1851 Mary was living in Newcastle with her parents Richard and Ann and 6 siblings plus her maternal grandfather, John Patrick. Her father Richard was a Rope Maker. Her 85 year old grandfather was an Agricultural Labourer. [2]
On 2 November 1868 Mary married Robert Elliott in Newcastle upon Tyne. [3]
In 1911 Robert and Mary were living in Elswick, Northumberland with their son John Wilson. Robert was a fitter for an Engineering Company. The couple had been married 42 years and had 7 children, all still living. Their house had 8 rooms (very roomy for the time) and was 50 Northbourne Street. [4]
Mary died aged 69 in 1915. Her death was registered in Newcastle upon Tyne. [5]
