When Rebecca Howland was born on September 13, 1718, in Freetown, Massachusetts, her father, John, was 38 and her mother, Rebecca, was 33. She married Elisha Gibbs on April 7, 1737, in Newport, Rhode Island. They had four children during their marriage. She died as a young mother on February 4, 1745, in Newport, Rhode Island, at the age of 25.

Rebecca Howland was born to John and Rebecca Howland on September 13, 1718 in Freetown, Bristol, Province of Massachusetts Bay.[1]

Marriage

Rebecca Howland married Elisha Gibbs on April 7, 1737 in Newport, Newport County, Rhode Island,[2] but the Newport Town Records recorded her name Elizabeth Howland who married Elisha Gibbs on April 7, 1737. Also the burial record of Common Burying Ground of Newport, Rhode Island, showed that her name was Rebecca Gibbs who was buried next to her parents, John and Rebecca Howland and her sister, Penelope Howland as well.

Rebecca Gibbs died on February 4, 1745, and she was buried at Common Burying Ground in Newport, Newport County, Rhode Island. She was buried next to her parents, John and Rebecca Howland, and her sister, Penelope Howland.[3]
