Biography

William Hoyes was born about 1816. He was the son of William Hoyes and Anne unknown. William was christened on the 3rd of March, 1816 at Saint Peters, in Foston, Lincolnshire, England. ^[1]

Marriage

William married Sarah Rudkin in the first quarter of 1849, in Grantham, Lincolnshire, England. ^[2] William and Sarah were residing in Lavington, Lincolnshire when they werre captured on the 1851 census.^[3] William was listed as a farmer. By 1861, the family had grown considerably, with eight children in the household, and they were now living in Lenton, Lincolnshire. They had employed a governess, which is akin to a child's teacher and had several servants, who likely helped with the farm. ^[4]

Death

William passed away in 1872. The death was registered in Grantham, Lincolnshire. ^[5]
