Abigail Smith was born 5 January 1739 in Middletown, Connecticut. She was the daughter of Elizabeth Sill and Robert Hubbard. More about her ancestry can be found in the Hyde Genealogy, by Reuben H. Walworth.[1]
Abigail Smith's death was reported in the Columbian Gazette (Utica, New York) on Tuesday, 11 January 1814, page 3: "Died, on the 27th of December last at the house of her son in law Thomas Skinner, Esq. in this village, Mrs. Abigail Smith, relict of the late Dr. Reuben Smith, of Litchfield, (Con.) aged 74. It is but justice to say that Mrs. Smith, as a member of society was scrupulously exact in the performance of her duty, and that its discharge was regulated by a strict adherence to the precepts of the pure religion of the gospel."
