Samuel Slatter and Mary Ann Huckins were married after banns in Combe, Oxfordshire on 8th September 1828[1]. They were bachelor and spinster and both of the parish. Neither could write so they both made their mark on the register with a cross and the witnesses to the marriage were James Huckins, Charity Huckins and Phoebe Saunders.
