The family emigrated to Christchurch, New Zealand aboard the Pakeha sailed 9 December 1920. ^[3]

He married Elizabeth Janet Graham, and they had one child who died at birth:

He married second Margaret Hepsy Leaman 1949 in Cheviot, Canterbury, New Zealand and they had 2 children .

He passed away in 2002.

   • Note error on mother's maiden name. This could be a transcription error: these records were first written in a notebook on site, and then taken to the Superintendent Registrar's office and copied out of the notebook. The handwriting of McKane may have been misread as Nixon at that point. Alternatively, perhaps the informant made an error in the first place; Nixon is his grandmother's maiden name.
