Willie was born in Nov 1860 in Green Springs, Louisa County, Virginia. She was the daughter of William Hughson and Mary Barret.
In 1870 she was living in Northern District, Pittsylvania, Virginia, United States.[1] The household included William I Hughson 40, Nannie B Hughson 15, Virga Hughson 13, Barrett Hughson 12, William Hughson 10, and Roberta Hughson 8. William was a farmer. Barrett was a farm laborer. Willie was recorded as William, male.
In 1880 she was living in Louisa, Louisa, Virginia, United States.[2] The household included William J. Hughson 59, daughter Willie H. Hughson 20, son John B. Hughson 22, daughter Roberta Hughson 17, and domestic servant Ann Barrett 60. William was a farmer. John was a farmer.
John Philip Lightfoot Grasty and Willie M. Hughson were married on 10 June 1880 in Louisa County, Virginia, United States. He was the son of Geo S. Grasty and Mary A. Grasty.[3][4][5]
In 1900 she was living in Taylor District, Orange, Virginia, United States.[6] The household included J F Grasty 48, wife W W Grasty 40, daughter J D Grasty 19, son J B Grasty 18, son W J Grasty 16, son E L Grasty 12, daughter C A Grasty 11, son L M Grasty 9, son Nelson Grasty 8, son R D Grasty 6, son E A Grasty 5, and son C W Grasty 3. J P and Willie had been married 20 years. Willie was the mother of 13 children, 10 living. J P was a grocer. J B, W J and E L were farm laborers.
In 1910 she was living in Samuel Miller, Albemarle, Virginia, United States.[7] The household included J P Grasty 58, wife W M Grasty 45, son J B Grasty 27, son Earnest Grasty 21, daughter Cecil Grasty 19, son L N Grasty 17, son R N Grasty 16, son C W Grasty 15, son R W Grasty 12, daughter Alace Grasty 10, and daughter Selma Grasty 9. J P and W M had been married 30 years. Willie was the mother of 14 children, 11 living. J P was a farmer with a fruit farm. J B was a plumber working in the village. L N was a farm laborer. R N was a salesman in a store. Clarence was a laborer on the home farm.
Willie died on 18 January 1911 in Charlottesville, Virginia.
She has a memorial in Spring Hill Cemetery, Lynchburg, Virginia that notes that she was buried in an unmarked grave at the old home place in Louisa County.[8]
