Biography

Sally (Humber) Sneath was born in Leicestershire, England.

Sally Humber was born about 1814 and baptised on 14 Sep 1814 in Quorn, Leicestershire, England, United Kingdom. She was the daughter of framework knitter, Thomas Humber and his wife, Sarah Ward. ^[1]

Sally or Sarah Humber (spinster of full age, a framework knitter) of Wharf Street, Leicester was married to James Sneath (batchelor of full age, a bricklayer), of Grosvenor Street, the son of John Sneath (a mason) on 12th November 1838 in Leicester. The banns had been read the year before. ^[2][3]

There was a bastardy order against James Sneath on 19th October 1834 in relation to a male child, of whom Sarah Humber was the mother. There was another order in respect of a female child of the same couple, on 20th September 1836. ^[4]

James Sneath (bachelor of full age, a bricklayer) of Grosvenor Street, the son of John Sneath (a mason) and Sarah Humber (spinster of full age, a FWK) of Wharf Street, the daughter of Thomas Humber (a FWK) were married on 12th November 1838 at the church of St. Margaret, Leicester. ^[5]

Sarah and James Sneath were living with their three sons, William (7), John (2) and Robert (6 months) in Barrow Gate, Barrow Upon Soar, Leicestershire in 1841. ^[6]

James and Sarah Sneath were living with three children, James (18), Mary (16) and Jane Sneath (14) in Quorn, Leicestershire, England, United Kingdom in 1871. ^[7]

Sarah Sneath died age 80 and was buried in Queniborough, Leicestershire, England, United Kingdom on 21 Oct 1894. ^[8][9]
