Lt George Humble served in the United States Civil War.
Enlisted: May 17, 1861

George Washington Humble was the son of Jacob Humble and Frances L. Broadway Humble.

He married Louisiann Virginia Adams in Franklin Parish on September 26, 1867. They were the parents of nine children.

G W Humble served as a lieutenant in the Confederate Army, Private Company I Third Louisiana Infantry. Enlisted 17 May 1861 at New Orleans. Federal Rolls POW, captured at Vicksburg, Mississippi July 4th 1863. Paroled at Vicksburg July 8th 1863. On list dated Headquarters Allen's Brigade Shreveport, Louisiana reported for exchange March 29th, 1864.
