Biography
Jane was the da. of Sir Anthony Hungerford of Stokke, nr. Great Bedwyn, Wilts. She m. 22 April 1617 Robert Straunge, of Cirencester, co. Glocs and Somerford Keynes, co. Wiltshire. Their marriage took place at Great Bedwyn, Wiltshire. [1] Robert was mentioned as "son in law" in the will of Jane's father Anthony. [2]
Jane died about 1639.[3] Her will names her late husband Robert Strange, brother Sir Edward Hungerford, KB; brother Anthony Hungerford of Black Bourton; kinsmen Richard Berkeley and cousin Thomas Hungerford of Lea (latter four to be executors); son Robert Strange, daughters Margarett, Ann, Katherine and Jane; brother (in law) Anthony Strange and his children Philip, Anthony and George; brother (in law) Michael Strange; sisters in law Hungerford of Corsham, Hungerford of (Black) Bourton; and sisters Nicholas and Coxwell (unclear who the latter two were, perhaps sisters-in-law, the latter perhaps Mary Strange daughter of Michael Strange of Somerford Keynes who married Samuel Coxwell of Cirencester ca 1615).
