Christine was born in 1841 in Glatten, Germany. She was the daughter of Mattheus Huss and his wife Maria.^[1] She came to the United States in 1862.^[2]

She married Rev. Hermann Gundert in 1863.^[3] They lived in Mount Clemens, Michigan, where he was the pastor at Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church for more than 40 years.^[4]

Christine passed away in 1917.^[5][6]
