Jane HUSTON was born in May 1749 in Cumberland, Pennsylvania, to Isabella SHARON, age 39, and Samuel HUSTON, age 44.
Jane HUSTON married Lieutenant Colonel John CREIGH in Carlisle, Pennsylvania, on August 25, 1766, when she was 17 years old.
Jane Huston married John Creigh (1741-1813), who was both scholarly and patriotic. He was in the employ of Jane's father, Samuel Huston, possibly as an educator or clerical. After serving in the Revolution as Lieutenant Colonel, he was selected as associate judge and a ruling elder of the Presbyterian Church at Carlisle. John Creigh represented Cumberland County in the Provincial Conference, June 18-25, 1776 – along with John Hancock, Benjamin Franklin and other founding fathers – at Carpenter's Hall in Philadelphia.[1]
They had six children during their marriage, but not all lived.
Jane HUSTON died on October 31, 1808, in Carlisle, Cumberland, Pennsylvania, when she was 59 years old.
