Biography
Josiah was born in 1780. He is the son of Benjamin Hutchins and Judith McGehee.
Josiah married first, Mary Williams, 20 Oct 1799, Surry, North Carolina. Mary was born 8 September 1781, North Carolina. To this union were born:
- Sarah Hutchens 1800–1850
- Levicky Hutchins 1801–Deceased
- John W Hutchins 1803–Deceased
- Judith M. Hutchins 1807–Deceased
- Elizabeth Hutchins 1810–1877

Mary died before 23 Aug 1844, when Josiah married second, the widow Sarah "Sally" Bowen Rutledge.
Josiah passed away 15 June 1845, Surry, North Carolina.
