Clement died on 9 August 1862 of disease in the civil war in Rienzi, Alcorn, Mississippi, United States.^[4] His estate passed probate on 22 March 1867 in Principal Registry.^[5] Clement was buried on 11 August 1862 in Corinth National Cemetery in Corinth, Mississippi.^[6]
