Captain William Hutton was born June 7, 1736. During the American Revolutionary War, William served as an officer under the command of Colonel Andrew Pickens, of the South Carolina forces. [1]
William is honored by the Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution, as DAR Ancestor #A061488. DAR records indicate that William died before September 4, 1809, in the Abbeville District of South Carolina, and that his wife's name was Rebecca Craig.
Application for membership in the Society of the DAR have been made by the descendants of William and Rebecca's son, Joseph Hutton, who married Nancy Agnes Calhoun; and of their daughter, Mary Hutton, who married Daniel Gray. [2]
