Biography

Sarah (Hydes) Garside was born in Yorkshire, England.

Sarah was born before 1838. ^[1] She was the daughter of John Hydes and Mary Noddings (Clarebrough) Garside, and was christened in Alverthorpe, Wakefield on 8 July 1838. ^[2]

In 1841 ^[3] the family are living in Chapel Street, Hunslet, Leeds, where her father is working as an Engineer, in 1851 ^[4] at Bowers Place and in 1861 ^[5] at Low Road. She is now 22 and works as a Milliner.

In 1861 Sarah married Robert William Garside in Hunslet Leeds, ^[6] and in 1871 ^[7] The family are living in Millshaw, Beeston Leeds. Robert is a Coal Staithes Manager, and the couple have three children. They also have his Uncle Thomas Garside living with them. They had six children between 1864 and 1878, only Sarah survived to aldulthood.

She passed away in 1879, age 40. ^[8]
