Biography

Edythe was born on 17 February 1885 in Mt. Vernon, Knox, Ohio. She was the daughter of Charles Claude Iams and Katherine Margaret (Hill) Iams.^[1]

Her early life was spent in Ohio with her parents. Her father was a reporter, while her mother took care of the home.^[2]

When Edythe was 17, she married Oliver Ray Tucker on 6 October 1902 in Mt. Vernon, Ohio.^[3]

By 1910, the couple moved to Franklin, Columbus, OH. In the 1910 census Edith E (age 25) was the wife of Oliver R Tucker in Mt Vernon Ward 3, Knox, Ohio They have three small children. He works as a linotype operator. Linotype are machines that set type for newspapers, magazine, and books.^[4]

In the 1920 census Edith E (age 34) was the wife of O K Tucker in Mount Vernon, Knox, Ohio. He is now working as a printer for a newspaper. They have three teenagers living in the home.^[5]

Edythe died at the age of 37 on 22 April 1922 in Gainesville, Alachua, Florida. The cause was a stroke. The couple had lived in the county for a little over a year.^[6]

Edythe was buried after 22 April 1922 in Mount Vernon, Knox County, Ohio.^[7]
