Mildred Jane Vinson Ibbotson was born on 7 June 1890, in Palmerston North, Manawatū-Whanganui, New Zealand as the daughter of Thomas Ibbotson and Eliza Annie Vinson.^[1]

She married Walter Samuel Harwood on 19 July 1911, in Wanganui, Manawatū-Whanganui, New Zealand.

They were the parents of at least two sons and one daughter.

She married Francis John Earles in 1921, in New Zealand.

They were the parents of at least one son.

She died on 10 April 1939, in Wanganui, Manawatū-Whanganui, New Zealand, at the age of 48, and was buried in Aramoho Cemetery, Manawatū-Whanganui, New Zealand.
