BOONVILLE, April 29.-The funeral of D. C. Ingram, who passed away at this place last Saturday, was held Monday, Rev. Jewett conducting the services. A large assemblage of friends and relatives attended to show their esteem for the deceased, who was one of the oldest pioneers in this section.
D. C. Ingram was born in Illinois in 1847 and crossed the plains in 1869, settling in Anderson Valley with his parents immediately, after their arrival in California. He was married in 1870 to Mary Ellen Clow, member of another pioneer family of Anderson Valley, and nine children were born to this union. The widow and eight children survive, namely, Mrs. E. B. Ball of Ukiah; C. T. Ingram, Mrs. J. B. Smalley and W. I. Ingram of Cloverdale; Mrs. J. A. Lyle; W. I. Ingram, M. E. Ingram and Alva Ingram of Anderson Valley. He also leaves 24 grandchildren. three great-grandchildren and one brother, N. V. Ingram, of Petaluma.
Deceased brothers and sisters are the late Mrs. William Prather, Mrs. Saw Lawson, Ella Ingram, John Ingram, Cap Ingram and Mercer Ingram, all of whom made their homes in Anderson Valley prior to their deaths.
Mr. Ingram was a splendid example of the sturdy pioneer stock which hewed the way for civilization in the west. He was a man of sterling integrity and was held in high esteem by all who knew him.
