Ralph Inman (1713–1788) was born in Yorkshire, England, and came of America in about 1740. He established a large estate at what became Cambridgeport in Massachusetts, a fact remembered in the naming of nearby Inman Street and Inman Square. Inman was a successful merchant and remained a Loyalist during the American Revolution, part of which he spent in England.[1]
