Irick, 60A director of the Rock Creek Conservation District, Joh L. Irick, 60, died at 7:15 a.m. Saturday at his home at 613385 C. Rd. 500E, Huntington County. He had been in ill health for three years.bHe also was a past director of the Huntington County Soil and Water Conservation District. He was born in Salamonie Twp., Huntington County, June 21, 1933, son of Ward and Ruby Thompson Irick. His marriage Dec. 25, 1951 was to June Ann Bechtel, who survives. He was a 1951 graduate of Warren High School, a member of the Buckeye Christian Church and an honorary member of Salamonie Active Men at Warren. Surviving, in addition to the wife, are his mother, Ruby Irick, of Huntington County; two daughters, Mrs. Colter (Cynthia) Wehr and Mrs. Perry (Tamara) Spahr, both of Warren; two sons, Bernard Irick of Warren and Roger Irick of Huntington County, and seven grandchildren. Two brothers, Don Irick of Ottawa, Ohio, and Dr. Neil Irick of Indianapolis; and two sisters, Mrs. Robert (Luellyn) Pond of Salem, Ohio, and Mrs. Jim (Nell Jean) Witt of Jacksonville, Fla., also survive. Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Buckeye Christian Church with Rev. Jim Crothers officiating. Burial Will be in Thompson Cemetery in Huntington County.
