Mary Ann JACKA was born on 22 December 1863 in Moonta Mines, South Australia, Australia[1]. Her parent were Walter JACKA and Phillipa DATSON.
Frederick Walter BROOKS and Mary Ann JACKA were married on 5 October 1881 at the residence of Thomas ANDERS in Port Wakefield, South Australia, Australia[2]. (In her first marriage records she was age 18 and her father is listed as Walter.)
Their only child was
Frederick Walter BROOKS 1882–1953
Husband, Frederick passed away on 19 May 1882 in Adelaide, South Australia.
Louis NIES (listed as NEIS) and widow, Mary BROOKS (nee JACKA) were married on 20 Nov 1889 at the residence of Rev. J. C. KIRBY, Port Adelaide, South Australia, Australia[3].
Their children included:
Dorethey Winefred NEIS or NIES 1891–1893
Percy James NIES 1893–1959
Marguerite Clarence NIES 1895–?
John Alexander NIES or DE VOS 1902–1980 (registered in each surname)
On 6 February 1905 at the residence of Rev. J. W. BAMBER in Semaphore she married James De VOS[4]. Online marriage records have her surname as Nies. Father of the bride is listed as Waller Tarka but I think this is a typo. They had three children. Frederick Brooks (named after her first husband), James and Louis Nies (named after her second husband).
She died on 21 January 1944, age 79, at 20 Rose St Sandwell South Australia[5] and was buried at the Cheltenham Cemetery, Cheltenham, Charles Sturt City, South Australia, Australia[6]. Death records only list her husband's name. No mention of children in her death notice.
