Biography

George was born in 1864 and baptised 5 August 1864 in Breage, Cornwall, the son of James Jacka (miner) and Elizabeth Stodden, residing in Penhale.[1][2]

George was mentioned on a memorial in Mount Moriah Cemetery, Butte, Silver Bow County, Montana, United States with a death date of 15 December 1903.[3]

George Jacka was 39 years of age, the last 20 of which he lived in Butte, having come here from Superior, Mich. He was employed both as a miner and bartender, and leaves, besides his mother, a brother, Thomas, and a sister, Mrs. Richard Thomas, in Centerville; a sister, Mrs. Richard Wing, who lives in Waterloo, Mont, but who was at his bedside at the time of his death, and a brother, James Jacka, living in Globe, Ariz. Final arrangements for the funeral will not be made until word is received from the brother in Arizona[4]
The funeral of George Jacka will take place tomorrow (Friday) at 2 p.m. from the family residence, 16 East Center street, Centerville. Services will be held at the Trinity Methodist Episcopal church by Rev. B.J. Hocking.[4]
