Joseph born 14 March and was baptised on 20 April 1835 in the St Day Chapel in Cornwall, the son of Joseph Jacco and Mary .[1]

Research Notes

Establishing the parents of Joseph - In the 1841 & 1851 English Census there is a Provis/Provise is living in the family home. In the 1851 Census Grace is identified as the Mother-in-law of the head of the household, Joseph Jacka, therefore, making her the grandmother of Joseph. By implication, Grace is Joseph’s maternal grandmother and therefore the mother of Mary Jacka, the wife of the head of the household, which means that her first name at birth would be Provis

Will of Joseph Jacka written 5 July 1875 with Codacil probated 22 November 1875, Taylor county, Iowa; [10]

Joseph Jacka was residing in the Township of Grant, Taylor County, state of Iowa. He left all his effects and real estate to his wife Ann Jacka all his effects and real estate in Grant, county of Taylor, Iowa. If she should Ann remarry again that the whole property shall be equally divided by his children, making Mary JacKa the oldest child executrix
