Biography

August was born in 1897 in Neuzeug, Upper Austria, today a district of Sierning, Upper Austria.[1] He was perhaps the son of Gustav Jungschaffer and Eleonora Jakš. There is no father entered in his birth record and no indication that Gustav also was in Neuzeug at the time in question. However, at the time of his death in 1900 he is listed as legitimate with the family name Jungschaffer.[2]
