Elizabeth (James) Winders was born in Sellby, Yorkshire, England.

Elizabeth James was born about 1815/16, a daughter to John James and Elizabeth Abba/Abbey in Selby, Yorkshire, England. She was baptised ^[1] February 4, 1816 in Selby.

She married Thomas Winders (son of Richard Winders and Mary Hawcroft) ^[2] December 25, 1838 at Selby Abbey.

They had four chldren; Emily 1842, Alfred 1846, Alice 1854 and Arthur 1859.

She passed away in the ^[3] July to September quarter of 1868.
