Biography

John was born on 15 Jul 1860 in Tillicoultry, Clackmannanshire, Scotland.^[1][2] He was the son of William Jamieson and Ann (Gibb) Jamieson (1820-).

At the age of 8 months, in 1861, John and his parents were visitors at the home of Colin McAuley in Paisley, Renfrewshire.^[2]

Research Notes

John's mother's maiden name is given as "Jamieson" on his birth record. There is a marriage record for William Jamieson and Annabella Jamieson in Stirling in 1859.^[3] Could not find a marriage record for a William Jamieson and an Ann/Annabella Gibb on ScotlandsPeople. Baxter-4158 - 6 Jan 2023.
