Daniel Jamieson, Gord-Area, 5 acres arable, 2 outrun. Rent £4 10s. Stock-2 cows, one pony, 3 sheep, one lamb. Paid previous tenants for roofs of office-houses. Dwelling-house in miserable condition when he entered, but repaired by factor 5 years after entry. Factor provided mason work, but witness had to provide wood for inside furnishing. The factor gave the wood for the roof of the house.

By Mr Tulloch - The rent had been increased by 15s.

By Mr Anderson - He had a right in scattald, and could put in stock without restriction.
