Research Notes
I (Julie Mangano) removed Esther Tefft Tefft-52 and Thomas Tefft Tefft-49 from Elizabeth Jenckes Tefft's list of children because she was too young to be their mother. I think they belonged to another Tefft relative who lived around the same time as Samuel and Elizabeth. The other children appear to be correct. Since I made the changes to her husband Samuel's profile, I felt I needed to update the list of children here, too.
Esther is back in this profile with a credible date of birth. Regarding Thomas, the Occam's Razor article has note saying that Austin, Genealogical Dictionary of Rhode Island (note 20), page 393, and Carl Boyer 3rd, Ancestral Lines, Third Edition (Santa Clarita, Calif.: the author, 1998), page 618, "inexplicably and without documentation, gives an [additional] child Thomas, died 1726." I am going to disconnect Thomas and mark his profile as Uncertain Existence. Smith-62120 02:46, 22 December 2021 (UTC)

DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships with Elizabeth by comparing test results with other carriers of her mitochondrial DNA.
However, there are no known mtDNA test-takers in her direct maternal line.
It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with Elizabeth:
Elizabeth Jenks/Jenckes would have been a child when Thomas was born. I have found no references that list Thomas as a child of Elizabeth and Samuel Tefft.
