Biography

Horace Jeter was born in Appalachia, in Kentucky.

Horace Jeter was 85 and living in London, Kentucky, when he passed away on 1 June, 1997.^[1] Born July 29, 1911, in Casey County, Kentucky, he was the youngest son of Robert and Cora Stubbs.^[2] Horace was a retired district engineer with the state highway department where he worked for 40 years and was a member of Middleburg Methodist Church.

Horace married Dora Lee Price of Pricetown, Casey, Kentucky, on 24 Dec 1936. They were married in Parksville, Boyle, Kentucky, however, Horace sent a stand-in for himself for unknown reasons. To their union was born a son, Donald Jeter, and a daughter, Patty Jeter.

The couple made their home in London, Laurel, Kentucky, in the 1950s and remained living in the same house they had built there until their deaths.

Research Notes

Horace did not have a middle name, although a few documents show his middle name as Donald. Donald was his son.
