Biography
Johan August was born in the cottage Gustafsberg 4 February 1837 to Johan Gustaf Simonsson and his wife Inga Stina Danielsdotter.[1] Later the family lived in Norra Skog, Hjorted.[2]
Johan August Johansson was married to Johanna Margareta Johansdotter about 1861 (marriage record sought but not found). In 1863 Johan August and his wife appeared as christening witnesses for the son, Carl Johan, of his sister Inga Helena - in this record Johan August is registered with the surname Skoglund (also used by his sisters, occasionally).[3]
From 1862 Johan August Johansson and Johanna Margareta Johansdotter lived in the cottage Sandhult, a new settlement in Flodmarken on land owned by brukspatron Tillberg in Falsterbo.[4][5] Inga Helena and her son lived with them until she married in 1866. In spite of this Johan August is not mentioned in the fictionalized family history of this time in Inga Helena's life.[6]
In October 1869 Johan August Johansson and Johanna Margareta Johansdotter went to America with their two little daughters.[7]
