Cristinana Johnson, daughter of Claus and Rebecca (Bankson) Johnson, married John Vaughan, who was born March 3, 1731.[1]

In 1788, Christn. Vaughan paid 15 shillings and 9 pence for taxes in Haverford Township, Chester County, Colony of Pennsylvania.[2]

Property

In 1798, Christiana Vaughan occupied and owned the dwelling house which sat on 2 acres. First, the dimension of the frame was 14 feet by 20 feet with two stories, and the number and the dimension of windows were 8 windows and 108 lights. The value was 200 dollars. Next, the dimension of the log was 14 feet by 14 feet, and its purpose was the kitchen. The value was 50 dollars. Finally, the dimension of the stone was 12 feet by 10 feet, and its purpose was the springhouse. The value was 20 dollars. The total of its valuation was 270 dollars.[3]

In the name of God amen, I Christiana Vaughan of the township of Haverford in the County of Delaware and state of Pennsylvania Being in a low state of Health and weak in Body But in sound of mind memory thanks to Almighty God for the same and knowing all must I die doth make my last will and testament in form and manner here after describe—

Item I give and bequeath unto my son Joshua five acres of land laying at the uper end of my place now in tenure of Saml Wright to hold him the said Joshua his heirs and Assigns forever likewise ten pounds in specee to be paid in twelve months after my decease but my Executors—

Item Likewise I give and bequeath unto my son Johnson Vaughan Eighty one pounds five shillings Speceeto paid to him at the end of one year after decease his heirs or Assigns by my Executors—

Item I give and bequeath unto my son Jonathan Vaughan his heirs Assigns the sum of ninety three pounds five shillings in two years after my decease by my Executors

Item I give and bequeath Martha Standly her heirs or Assigns the sum of one hundred pounds specee to be paid in three years after my decease by my Executors—

Item And lastly I give and bequeath unto my son Jacob Vaughan the plantation I now live on supposed to be forty acres let the same be more or less to hold him the sd Jacob his heirs and Assigns forever Likewise all the stock on said premises with the farming utensials then belonging the said Jacob paying all the Legacecs in my will before mentd to the respective Legatees Likewise one feather bed in the new end with bedding to it belonging—

And do nominate and appoint to sons Jacob and Joshua to be my Lawful Executors as witness hand this second day of April in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred—
