Biography

Marie Christine Johnson, daughter of William Johnson and Marie Therese Ritter, was born about 1803 in the Attakapas District of south Louisiana. She was baptized on 29 October 1804 in Opelousas, St. Landry Parish, at the age of one year.^[1][2]

Christine and Elisee Cormier, son of Anaclet Cormier and Magdaleine Celeste Richard, obtained a marriage license on 14 January 1822 in Opelousas.^[3] They were married on 15 January 1822 in Grand Coteau, St. Landry Parish. Witnesses were Denis Dessessart and Pierre Potier. Father Hercule Brassac presided.^[2] They had at least ten children.^[4]
