Birth

Emily was born about 1868. She was the daughter of Mary Ann BAldwin and Henry Johnson. ^[1]

Marriage

She married Joseph Goddard Vandersluys in Victoria in 1887, ^[2]

The marriages lasted until 1895, when the couple seperated after the birth of three children. Joseph applied for Divorce in 1903 and was granted a Decree Nisi.

VANDERSLUYS V. VANDERSLUYS. Joseph Goddard Vandersluys applied for a divorce from E,ily Jane Vandersluys on the ground of desertion and misconduct. Mr Hobday appeared for the petitioner who gave evidence that he left petitioner in 1895 owing to her filthy habits, and had contributed to her support and that of three children. It was shown that in the beginning of last year the respondent gave birth to a child in the Women's Hospital. A decree nisi was granted. ^[3]

Death

Emily passed away in 1946. She still carried the surname of Vandersluys, and had many other children after the couple seperated and consequently divorced. Emily was aged 78 at the time of her death. ^[4]
