Martha (Johnson) Alchin was born in the Colony of New South Wales (1788-1900)

Martha JOHNSON was born on 25 August 1837 in Mulgoa, Colony of New South Wales, died on 31 August 1922 in Dalton, New South Wales, Australia at age 85, and was buried on 1 September 1922 in Methodist Cemetery, Dalton, New South Wales, Australia.

Martha married John ALCHIN, son of Ambrose ALCHIN and Ann WATERHOUSE, in 1853 in Greendale, Colony of New South Wales.

John was born on 13 October 1821 in Staplehurst, Kent, England, United Kingdom, died on 14 June 1901 in Dalton, New South Wales, Australia at age 79, and was buried on 16 June 1901 in Wesleyan Cemetery, Dalton, New South Wales, Australia.

    Dalton. - From Our Correspondent.
    Mrs. Martha Alchin, widow of the late Mr. John Alchin, died on Wednesday night, August 30, at her home in Dalton. Deceased, who had celebrated her 86th birthday a few days before her death, was only ill for a short time, and the end came very peacefully. She leaves a family of four sons and two daughters and a large number of grand-children and great-grand-children. The sons are Matthew, James, and Henry Alchin, of Dalton and Thomas Alchin, of Blakney Creek. The daughters are Mrs. R. Pollard, of Galong, and Mrs. E. Whelan, Illabo. The funeral took place on Friday afternoon, the interment being in the Methodist portion of the Dalton cemetery. The Rev. Mr. Collins officiated at the graveside.
