John Jolly was born in Cornwall, England.

The only baptism found in Ladock in a date range 1735 to 1751 is:

  • 1 August 1743 Son of Joseph and Mary Jolly. (Would put his age at 23 at time of marriage). Parents Joseph Jolly and Mary Bond, married in Ladock on 13 August 1739 are thus appropriate candidates.

No baptisms were found in this range in adjacent parishes.

CRO AP/J/2223 Will of John Jolly, innkeeper, of Ladock 1814 This is only the link But I have a copy of the actual document. He is my 4x g grandfather There is also a brother Henry Ladock, Cornwall, Film # 008048499, Item 4 and a sister Mary Ladock, Cornwall, Film # 008048499, Item 4 (from England Births and Christenings 1534-1975. Mary married Charles ARCUS in 1805 in Ladock.

FRom the Letter of administration that I hold. This was dated 4 June 1814. Widow Elizabeth and daughters Juliet and Catherine, neither of whom had married to that date.
