Thomas Jones Sr was born in Massachusetts.

Birth and Parents

Thomas, the youngest of seven children of John Jones and Abigail Hatch was born on 29 May 1755, at Kittery, Massachusetts Bay Colony (annexed to Maine in 1820).^[1]

American Revolutionary War Service

Sergeant Thomas Jones Sr served with Penobscot Expedition during the American Revolution.

Thomas married Dorcas Edwards (1754-1830), the daughter of Daniel and Elizabeth (Woodman) Edwards on 1 April 1780 at Wells, York, Maine.^[4] They had nine children born at Wells:
