Charles Henry Jordan II was born 13 November 1840 in Kensington (Chelsea), Middlesex, England to [Jordan-15798|Silas William Jordan] and [Huddlestone-130|Jane (Huddlestone) Jordan], and baptised 06 Dec 1840 at St Lukes, Chelsea. [1]

He married [Purvis-1973|Matilda Prior Purvis] 6 August 1873 at St Pauls church, Greenwich, Kent, England. [2]

Notes

Charles Henry Jordan was: a founder of a Open Brethren Church: ' Woodcroft Hall', London; Chief Marine Surveyor of Lloyds, London; and Member of Royal Institute of Naval Architects. He entered a competition for a ship design and got 2nd place - see 'Times on line' article. He also undertook a survey of the Cutty Sark, which enabled its rebuilding after the destructive fire during its restoration.
