↑ Social Security Death Index. In the 1880 census, enumerated in April of that year, he was recorded as age 10 months old and "Aug" is noted as the month of birth; this may be an arithmetic error by the census taker. The 1900 census gives July 1879 as the date of birth.
↑ Birthplace of Thompson is inferred from the place he lived in 1880.
