  • John Willis Julian of Star Route (Radio Road), Sulphur Springs, Texas, passed away Monday at 6:55 p.m., October 25, 1976, in Hopkins County Memorial Hospital. He was 82.

A long time resident of Hopkins County and former stockman, he was born September 21, 1894 in Ennis, the son of Lewis and Delia Gunter Julian. He married Myrtle Ophelia Chester on October 2, 1919, in Sulphur Bluff, Texas. He was a member of the Sulphur Bluff Masonic Lodge No. 246 AF & AM. At the time of his death he was survived by his wife, sons LeRoy Julian of Oklahoma City, OK; G. Ray Julian, of Garland; Hoyle Julian, of Dallas; Dale Julian, of Lone Grove, OK; and Jay W. Julian of Sulphur Springs. Other survivors include daughters, Mrs. Maxyne Heimgartner, Mrs. Nadine Drake, and Mrs. Gay Nell Hopkins, all of Dallas; Mrs. Anita Miller, of Arlington; Mrs Melba Blount, of Sulphur Springs; Mrs. Gale Foster, of Fort Worth; and 26 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held Wednesday, October 27th at 3:00 p.m., in the Tapp Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. Jim Gatlin officiating. Interment was in the Restlawn Memorial Park. Members of the Sulphur Bluff Masonic Lodge served as pallbearers and performed the Masonic graveside services.
