Cetshwayo was King of the Zulu who led his people to victory in the Battle of Isandlwana. He continued to employ many of the military tactics created by Shaka which were highly successful against other tribes and the British. One notable failure, depicted in the 1964 film Zulu[1], was at Roark's Drift. In the film, Cetshwayo is depicted by his own great-grandson Zulu chief Mangosuthu Buthelezi [2].
Cetshwayo tried to maintain a peaceful relationship with the British, but a disagreement with the High Commissioner for South Africa Henry Frere [3] over disbanding the Zulu army led to war in 1879.
