Biography
Ruth Mae Kagan was born in Mendham NJ in June, 1910. [1] She was the first child of Whitfield Clouse Kagan (1886-1973) and Ella Gertrude Taylor (1891-1958) She was the first of Whit & Ella's 11 children. [2]
She was raised in Mendham, NJ and on Jan 1, 1929, she married Merrill Hopler (1904-1969) known as Mickey. [3] They made their home first in Mendham, [4] and then Rockaway, NJ [5]. Ruth and Mickey had eight children; seven boys and one girl.
Ruth died on Christmas Day of 1958. (25 Dec 1958) when her eldest child was 19 years old and her youngest was seven. She is buried at Hilltop Cemetery in Mendham, NJ at the Kagan family plot. [6]
