1917 - Enlisted in the Army 13 Dec 1917 at Atlanta, Georgia. Corporal 14 May 1918 and Sergeant 12 Sep 1918. 1918 - Received an Honorable Discharge from the Army of the United States on 27 Nov 1918 at Camp Meigs, Washington, D.C. Army #717097, Sergeant, Quartermaster Corps. Physical description: blue eyes, brown hair, fair complexion and was 5 feet 7 1/2 inches in height. Received travel pay to Atlanta, GA. Penciled on discharge is 1200 Bourbon St., New Orleans, Louisianna. Military Service: U.S. Army Discharge, 27 Nov 1918, with the rank of Sergeant Quartermaster Corps #717097.

Keating 2d of Washington, D.C. who was branch manager there for the Houston (Tex.) Fire and Casualty Company, died yesterday morning of a heart attack in the lobby of 150 Williard Street, an office building. He and his wife, the former Edna Margaret Lloyd, had been staying at the Waldorf-Astoria. His age was 50. Born in New Orleans, Mr. Keating attended Tulane University. At one time he was Oklahoma agent of the Royal-Liverpool Groups of Insurance Companies. Beside his widow, he leaves a daughter, Miss Betty Keating, and a son, James V. Keating 3d, both of Washington.
