Harold was born on September 7, 1892 in Glenwood, Nova Scotia. He was a son of [Kenney-1738|Reuben Kenney]] and Emma (Saunders) Kenney. His father was a cook.[1][2]
He enlisted in the Canadian Expeditionary force on February 5, 1916 at Yarmouth and was sent overseas in July of that year with the 112th Overseas Battalion.[3]
Harold married (1) Eva Harding on February 25, 1916 at Yarmouth before leaving for Europe. She was a daughter of Josiah Harding and Mary (Unknown) Harding of Lower Argyle.[2]
During the war, he served in Great Britain, France and Belgium. He was injured at one point, suffering accidental burns. He went on to serve throughout the war and was discharged on May 14, 1919.[3]
Eva and Harold had at least one known child, born in Nova Scotia.
Eva passed away in 1935.
Harold Married (2) Florence Agnes Goodwin on December 31, 1936 in Yarmouth County. She was a daughter of Sidney Goodwin and Ida (Langthorne) Goodwin.[4]
They later moved to Massachusetts where they lived in Everett, Middlesex County by the 1940s.
A son, Corporal Harold Kenney, was killed in World War II.
Harold passed away on November 8, 1955 in Everett at the age of 64.[5]
