Charles was born about 1845. He is the son of David Kerr.
He was attending University of New Brunswick in 1861, age 16 and immigrated to the USA in 1862.
The 16 Dec 1870 edition of The Daily Telegraph reported “In papers published at Waterville, Cloud Co., Kansas we find flattering notices of Charles Kerr's qualities as a musician and gentleman. Charles J. Kerr s/o D.S. Kerr, Esq. of (St. John) city, N.B.”
He married 28 Aug 1871 at Boston, Clara B. Schouler, d/o George Schouler, chief of Police of St. John, N.B.
He immigrated to the USA in 1879, to Kansas, resided Amsterdam, New York in 1892, resided Buffalo, New York in 1902, brakeman on railroad, 60, res. Buffalo, New York in 1910, cashier on railroad, 64, d. before 1920 as Clara was listed as a widow in 1920.
He died in 1918 in New York.[1]
