James Picken was born in February 1917 in Wynyard. He was the son of James Kerr and Margaret Wilhelmina Finnie. James married Olive Elder on 18 February 1940 in the United Church manse in Wynyard, Saskatchewan. They lived in Wynyard. Their children were Janice and Darren. In 1958 they were livving in Prince Albert where James worked at different jobs: shop foreman, mechanic, service station manager and a dealer. In 1974 they lived in North Battleford where he worked as a head mechanic. Olive died in 1996. James passed away in 2005.
