Biography

James was the eldest son of Matthias Kessinger and Sophia Loucks.

He was aged 6 in the 1850 Census.[1]

In the 1860 Census he was aged 16.[2]

He served in K Company, 14th Kentucky Infantry.

11 May 1866: James married Martha Adkins in Lawrence County, Kentucky.[3]

James and Martha were living in Elliott County, Kentucky in 1870 with daughters Permelia Kissinger, age 3 and Ellen Kissinger, age 2.[4]

James P. A. Kissinger was aged 40 in 1880. Wife Martha was age 37, b Kentucky. Children:
