Biography

Mary E. Killebrew was born 17 December 1829 in Montgomery County, Tennessee. She was the daughter of Buckner Killebrew and Elizabeth Jane (Pollard) Killebrew.

On 24 September 1849 in Montgomery County she married William B. Whitfield. ^[1]

Mary Whitfield, age 21, passed away 16 April 1851 and was buried in Pollard Family Cemetery.^[2]

• Mary's brother Edwin is listed in the Killebrew Cemetery. "(1) Edwin Killebrew. Born 3/16/1789 in Duplin County, North Carolina. Died 11/30/1847 in Ringgold, Montgomery County, Tennessee. Son of Buckner and Mary (Whitfield) Killebrew. Early Pioneer Settlers to this area in 1795/96 and were approved as "First Families of Tennessee" in 1995. Edwin Killebrew was married in 1814 to (2) Mary (Williams) Killebrew. Born 4/21/1793 in Sampson County, North Carolina. Died 12/3/1872 in Ringgold, Montgomery County, Tennessee. Daughter of Revolutionary War Captain Daniel Williams and Sarah (Nixon) Williams of Dickson County, Tennessee."
