Dwaine Killen was born on 30 Dec 1938 in Windsor, Hants, Nova Scotia, Canada, son of Orick Ernest Killen (~1910–1983) and Bessie Mildred Bezanson (~1915– ).

Dwaine had a brother.

Dwaine married Doris Louise Milton (born on 15 Dec 1941 in Minto, Queens, New Brunswick; daughter of Oscar Rogers Milton and Irene (McCoubrey) Milton). Their known daughter was Natalie J Killen (1964–1982).

Dwaine died on 17 Oct 2023 in Moncton City, Westmorland, New Brunswick, Canada, aged 84.

Dwaine Killen 1938-2023 Dwaine Killen, 84, of Hillsborough passed away peacefully on October 17th, 2023 at the Dr. Georges L-Dumont Hospital. Dwaine was born in Windsor, NS on December 30th, 1938 the son of the late Orick and Bessie Killen. Dwaine worked in Automotive Parts Sales at APM Ltd and last at ACME Sales where he retired from. Dwaine had a very quiet demeanor. He never seemed to get too excited about things and was calm in most situations. This really helped him in his life as he was active in his community. He was a Councillor for the Village of Hillsborough for twelve years and was a sports advocate while on Council. He loved sports, he was an avid golfer and member of the Hillsborough Golf Course. His golf passion started at age 16 on the Fundy Park course and he still golfed in Hillsborough once or twice a week prior to getting ill this summer. He also played hockey for years, he could always be found at the Arena. He was well known at the Arena as he refereed many hockey games. He skated up until a couple years ago. He enjoyed bowling with his wife Doris for almost 50 years in the Hillsborough Mixed League. He was very active with the Grey’s Island Cemetery having served on the board for years. He was also the treasurer, key keeper and maps guy for all who needed to know anything for the cemetery they always called Dwaine. He had a huge lapel pin collection and was very proud of his over 1500 pins display. His family was very important to him, Dwaine and his wife had a small family whose love was abundant. His son ..., were not only his son and daughter-in-law, but good friends and neighbours. Having lived side by side over the years always looking out for each other. His grandchildren were his pride and joy and he would do anything for them. Dwaine was an inspiration to his family. You’re now at rest and know that you were always the best. We love you so much and miss you every day! He will be deeply missed by ... and by several nieces and nephews. He will also be missed by all his golfing buddies and friends in the community. He was predeceased by his wife, Doris; daughter Natalie; sisters-in-law, Joyce Walters (Herb), RoseAnn Killen(Ernie) and brother-in-law, Raymond Milton. A Memorial Service to Celebrate his life will be held at the Albert County Funeral Home on Sunday, October 29th, 2023 at 2:00pm with Rev. Dean MacDonald officiating. Following the service the family will be meeting for further sharing of memories and for some refreshments. Interment will be in the Grey’s Island Cemetery, Hillsborough, NB. The family would like to say Thank You to the doctors and nurses of the Oncology unit at the Dr. Georges L-Dumont Hospital for their care and compassion. For those who wish donations to the Grey’s Island Cemetery or charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated.
